A Rump is a hearty and full-flavoured meat that is not only perfectly suited to barbecuing - but also excellent fried or grilled!
Perfect Barbecue Rump Recipe!
1 rump steak per person, approximately
250g (8 oz) each and 2 cm (3/4 in) thick
Brush steak with olive oil to ensure it will not stick to the grill and season with salt and pepper if preferred. Place rump steak onto a hot barbecue and cook for 6 minutes, rotating as needed. Turn steak over and cook for a further 4-5 minutes, rotating as needed. Allow the steak to rest on a cool part of the barbecue for 5 minutes before serving.
